For Max it is the first day on the farm and the life of a tractor is quite different from what he imagined. It is hard work‚ sometimes in the mud‚ sometimes in the rain; it means sleeping in a drafty old barn! Fortunately the satisfaction of doing a good job as well as the farmer’s appreciation compensate for it‚ so he gets more and more pleasure out of his new life. He works so hard and with all his heart‚ that in the end‚ he is almost ruined. We only hope that the farmer won’t get rid of him and buy a new tractor.
