Little Frankie doesn’t like story books.The pictures are alright but those scribbles at the bottom of the pages spoil his pleasure. "These are not scribbles‚" Daddy explains. "These are sticks and rings. With several sticks and several rings you make up a word and with several words you make up a story." But Little Frankie doesn’t want to hear of it. He prefers the stories Daddy makes up especially for him. One evening however Daddy phones to say he’ll be late. So Little Frankie asks Mommy to tell him the story of the day before. But Mommy doesn’t know the story. What a pity Daddy didn’t write it down anywhere. She could have read it to Little Frankie!
