In a small Parisian room‚ Marie–Madeleine tries hard to forget her mother‚ the marquise of Brinvilliers‚ the famous wicked woman… until the day she starts receiving mysterious packages (dead rats‚ a cut hand‚ etc.) which remind her of the terrible crimes of the person who brought her to the world. Hiding in the Paris of the seventeenth century‚ the city of the homeless‚ prostitutes‚ and beggars‚ and followed by this creepy package carrier‚ the young girl meets a well–meaning stranger. With his help‚ Marie–Madeleine starts to hunt down her mother’s past. Age: 15 and up
